This is the first time since 2008 that the Formula 1 teams have had an in-season test day to make changes to the car in a race environment and to capture important race data to once again help improve the speed and downforce of their cars.
The Marussia F1 Team wanted to focus on a number of things including improving the aerodynamic setup, tyre evaluation, suspension setup and some new kit.
Day 1 ended in very wet conditions which wasn’t ideal for the team as the conditions stopped prohibited them from getting the data they needed.
Day 2 was more productive as the team managed 46 productive laps the MR01-01 chassis, with Charles Pic leading the way for the session. Timo took over from Charles for the afternoon session but suffered some misfortune when his power steering experienced some problems.
