The Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya was the 5th race of the season and it produced a 5th different winner, Williams driver Pastor Maldonado. This is definitely on of the most exciting starts to an F1 season we’ve experienced and can’t wait for the next race day in Monaco.

The Marussia F1 Team head off to Spain for the start of the European season in the 2012 Formula 1 calendar year. They’ll be fighting for every second at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and are looking to build on some the momentum that saw them improving with every lap at the last few Grand Prix’s.
The teams have already spent the day completing the Friday practise session and apart from some minor balancing issues with the MR01, Timo Glock and Charles Pic successfully worked their way through a busy programme of areodynamic evaluations and setup work. Continue reading →
The third day of the Mugello test proved to be a very productive day with Timo attacking the test track with gusto. He achieved 110 laps in the MR01-01 and ended the day in 12th position with a fastest lap of 1:23.466. Nice job Timo!
Timo Glock had this to say about his drive on the 3rd day:”“A pretty good day I have to say. We got a lot of laps – 110 – and worked our way through many different things with the car. We were able to do a lot of comparisons and a lot of set-up work also, so in the end, I think it was a good last day and we have some important data to look through for Barcelona. Now we focus on the implementation for the Spanish Grand Prix and with some new components see what we can do there to continue the progress.”
This is the first time since 2008 that the Formula 1 teams have had an in-season test day to make changes to the car in a race environment and to capture important race data to once again help improve the speed and downforce of their cars.

A touch race was predicted in Bahrain this last week and both drivers experienced their fair share of challenges over the course of the weekend. Track temperature and tyre degradation were concerns for all race teams and their engineers and finding a balance between these two were the talking points of the Bahrain GP.
The Marussia F1 Team completed another solid performance at the Chinese Grand Prix with their third two-car finish in as many races. Timo Glock and Charles Pic finished the race in 19th and 20th positions respectively helping the Marussia F1 Team to confirm their position as number 10 in the Constructor’s Championship.
The Marussia F1 Team have made significant improvements to their race pace and were consistently lapping at the same pace as their nearest competitors. They now head to Bahrain full of confidence and ready for the next Formula One challenge.
